Ezekiel (Zeke) was born with an abnormal brain. He has bilateral optic nerve hypoplasia, an underdeveloped cerebellum, and an underdeveloped myelination pattern. As a result of these abnormalities, Zeke has developmental delays, feeding problems, visual impairment, muscular hypertonicity, and infantile spasms. In order to help Zeke function at his maximum potential, Zeke will be participating in various types of therapy, taking medications, and having more tests (MRI, EEG, blood work, genetics) and doctor visits (GI, endocrinologist, opthamologist, neurologist). He is still too young in development to tell exactly how he will function in the future, but providing early intervention now is key for his future.
